The Look design team has completely redesigned the profile of the Keo 2 Max, giving it a new, slimmer line but with a larger contact surface, further improving style and efficiency.

Optimized contact surface
The pedal contact area is of substantial importance. It is part of the brand identity and the manufacturer's trademark.
The contact area of the new Keo 2 Max retains the robust lines that made it famous. Its width has been increased up to 60 mm to offer a wider platform and better stability during pedaling. This creates superior feel and unmatched comfort, not found in other pedals.
Furthermore, power transmission has been optimized thanks to the increased usable surface up to 500 mm² (+25% more). The shape of the stainless steel plate has been revised to best match the cleat and to maintain a constant contact area - and consequently performance - regardless of foot position (also related to the degrees of freedom of the cleat used).
By increasing the pedal contact surface without adding weight, the "Power to Weight" ratio has been improved, making this product even better and allowing you to perform at your best.

Improved axle profile
The axle profile of the new Keo 2 Max has also been optimized. Built around an Oversize Chromoly+ axle, it features an axle with an internal ball bearing and a needle bearing placed under the contact surface to better manage the load and distribute it optimally.
A new component has been added between these two bearings. The washer, previously used to keep the needle bearing in place, has been replaced with a conical spacer. This technical solution reduces friction, increases smoothness, and consequently limits the geometric tolerances of the pedal body and related play. The combination of all these improvements has been designed to ensure uncompromising reliability.
