Description:

Polish contemporary composer Alexandra Breza studied composition and music theory at the Feliks Nowowiecki Conservatory and has won many competitions, including two prizes in the Tadeusz Beyrt Young Composers Competition, a finalist in the International Composers Competition organized by the New London Chamber Choir, and second prize in the International Psalm Competition in Katowice. He was also a finalist in the International Psalm Competition in Katowice, where he won second prize. This album features piano works and art songs (psalms with piano accompaniment), which are Breza's main focus. The piano is played by Maugojata Fulje-Yurczyk, who has premiered works by many contemporary composers. Yurchik studied at the Feliks Novowiejski Conservatory and at the Chopin Conservatory under Tatyana Shevanova, where she also served as a teaching assistant for seven years. Tokyo M-Plus
