Let’s gather for a calm afternoon of care and reflection.
Kintsugi (金継ぎ) is the traditional Japanese art of repairing broken ceramics with gold — a craft that honors cracks and imperfections as part of an object’s story. Instead of hiding traces of damage, Kintsugi transforms them into something even more beautiful, celebrating resilience and renewal.
In this workshop, we begin with a traditional Chinese tea ceremony using specially selected tea, creating a quiet and mindful moment to slow down and connect with the philosophy behind the practice.
Then together, we’ll go step-by-step through the process of restoring a broken ceramic piece using a contemporary, beginner-friendly approach to Kintsugi. You will learn how to carefully reassemble your piece and apply a gold finish to highlight its unique lines of repair.
During this session, we will:
-Experience a traditional Chinese tea ceremony with selected tea
-Learn the basics and philosophy of Modern Kintsugi
-Restore a broken ceramic piece step-by-step
-Apply a gold finish to the repaired lines
By the end of the workshop, you’ll bring home your repaired ceramic — a one-of-a-kind piece carrying its own story of transformation.
