Essential fatty acids a-linolenic acid (ALA) & linoleic acid (LA) are needed for normal growth and development of children. The beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 2g of a-linolenic acid (ALA) and a daily intake of 10g of linoleic acid (LA).
