Description:

Headstone, formed by Mark Ashton after the breakup of the first Rare Bird band, has released its second album as a five-piece band after a change of members. (Original release: 1975 / EMI Records)Leaving the two core members, Mark Ashton (g, vo) and Steve Bolton (g), the rhythm section was replaced by Jerome Limzon (b/Tsutomu Yamashita) and Peter Van Hook (ds/Later Mike & The Mechanics). The Mechanics). In addition, Joe O'Donnell, a violinist formerly with East of Eden, joined the five-member band for their second and last album. The album features British pop in the vein of label mates Be-Bop Deluxe and Cockney Rebel, and was a stepping stone for Ashton's later solo career as a melodic rock singer.
