Description:

He started out as a backup guitarist for Ian & Sylvia in Canada, and later became a valuable session guitarist for the folk/singer/songwriter scene from Greenwich Village to Woodstock in the 60s and 70s, playing on many epoch-making recordings. Monte Dunn (d. 2007) was involved in many epoch-making recordings as a valuable session guitarist in the folk/singer/songwriter scene from the 60s and 70s. He and his first wife, Karen, released a duo album in 1969, the only album to bear his name before or since. The album includes "Never in My Life," which features vibes and celeste and immerses the listener in an aesthetic world; "Order to Sing," a baroque folk tune with cello, harpsichord, and violin; and "Loving You," a bossa nova number with excellent jazz piano with a lounge feel. The lounge-like jazz piano on the bossa nova number "Loving You," for example, deviates from the orthodox folk format, and Cruz's vocals are sometimes glamorous and sometimes plaintive, showing a variety of expressions to match the rapidly changing moods of the songs.Bruce Langhorne (guitar), Paul Griffiths (keyboards), Eric Weisberg (fiddle, banjo), Hal Blaine (drums), Russell George (acoustic bass), Donald MacDonald (percussion), and others. After this, Dan returned to being a session guitarist, playing on Tim Hardin's "Suite for Susan Moore and Damian" (1969) and Fred Neil's "The Other Side of This Life" (1971) at Woodstock.
