1. Check Engine Light Stays On

• One of the first indicators.

• The ECU turns this light on when it detects a problem — but if the light stays on even after repairs, or if it flashes erratically, the ECU itself could be faulty.

2. Engine Performance Issues

A failing ECU can send wrong signals to the fuel and ignition systems, leading to:

• Rough idling or stalling

• Misfiring or poor acceleration

• Reduced power or hesitation

• Hard starting or no start at all

3. Poor Fuel Economy
