Piano Sonata No. 14" is a mid-period work with a particularly introverted tendency, and is less frequently performed than the preceding and following works No. 13 and No. 15, but it has the charm of looking deeply into Schubert's inner life. The "Musikfest" is a refined collection of short pieces, and is a masterpiece that shows Schubert's singing spirit as he excelled at composing German lieder. The "Three Piano Pieces" were composed in the year of Schubert's death and were forgotten for some time after his death until Brahms rediscovered them and gave them their current names.
