Wide Prairie, the only album released under Linda McCartney's sole name, will be re-released! Originally released in October, six months after Linda's death in April 1998. It features songs she wrote alone or collaborated on as a member of Wings between 1972 and 1980, "Seaside Woman/B Side to Seaside" released under the name Susie and the Red Stripes, covers by the McGuire Sisters, the Coasters, and others, as well as her last album, "Wide Prairie", which was released in October 1998, six months after her death in April 1998. Linda's solo work in the 80's and 90's, including "The Light Comes From Within" (co-written and performed with Paul, with her son James playing electric and acoustic guitar), which was her last recording, has been featured on many of her albums, with Linda performing vocals and playing various instruments. The compilation is composed of songs in which Linda played vocals and various instruments.It was produced with the help of husband Paul, son James, and Wings members Denny Lane, Denny Seawell, Henry McCulloch, Jimmy McCulloch, Joe English, and Lawrence Juber, as well as Carla Lane, who co-wrote "The White Coated Man" and "Cow," and Lee Scratch Perry and his Black Ark Studios bandmates Boris Gardiner, Winston Leiter, and Mikey Boo also collaborated on this album.
