With its rich body colour and its classic elongated hexagonal cut, this is a superb antique emerald, balancing excellent clarity with the typically characterful ‘garden’ of inclusions which are expected in emeralds. Traditionally mounted in a tapered claw setting to protect its edges, this historic ring style is enlivened with pavé-set cushion-shaped diamonds at each side, glittering against the warm yellow gold mount. The diamond shoulders are magnificent, this is such a special ring and would make a magnificent antique ring.
