I would recommend running aluminum manifolds and match-porting them to your heads if you are running anything larger than a 1600 for high performance.  Otherwise, steel manifolds are fine.  They will heat up faster in cold weather, so  will be less prone to icing. This particular manifold style is lower than the standard new style or old style Kadron/EMPI manifold, making it the #1 choice for Ghia owners so the deck lid springs don't need to be removed.

I clean them thoroughly, and check for cracks or stripped threads.  They're guaranteed to be in great condition.
