Lombardy, Italy. 100% Chiavennasca (Nebbiolo). This is a rare grape variety that, over the centuries, has adapted to the Valtellina, a land like no other, where everything is still done by hand. 50-100-year-old vines, sourced from lower slopes of Sassella and Grumello vineyards at 350-400 meters. The wine is aromatic, easy to drink and feels like a cross-over between Piemonte and Burgundy. It’s a precise and refined wine with loads of red fruits aromatics, smooth tannins and a nice finish. A great introduction to the under the radar Nebbiolos' (locally called Chiavennasaca) from Valtellina.
