Dial Composition

Surfer Girl is unusual in that it combines both inlay and layered construction within the same dial.

The white shell is mother of pearl, a material that naturally carries soft flashes of pink, green, and violet. The wave is formed from blue-tinted Paua abalone, carefully cut so the two materials meet seamlessly along the curve of the water.

The surfer herself is cut from metal and placed by hand over the iridescent mother of pearl background. This layered construction gives the dial depth and creates a subtle three-dimensional effect as the light moves across the surface.

Clear cubic zirconia stones serve as time markers on the dial.
