Camellia Lady Vansittart is a striking evergreen shrub known for its unusual striped blooms. Each flower opens in shifting patterns of white pink and red, giving a different display from week to week. The twisted deep green leaves add extra character and make this a standout choice for borders or large pots. Flowering from mid March to the end of April, it provides a long season of colour as the cooler temperatures allow the blooms to open slowly in succession. Remove spent flowers to keep the plant neat or allow natural drop on some williamsii types. Plant in acidic humus rich soil or ericaceous compost in a sheltered position with light shade for best results.
