From our Curator's Collection
A rare 1940s vintage embroidered wool Japanese tourist jacket. Cream ivory wool shapes the jacket, as intricate embroidery colors the front, back, and sleeves with slinking dragons in peach, purple, green, and gold tones. It is an open jacket and is unlined.
After WWII, this style of jacket was brought home by American soldiers stationed in Japan.
In good condition with wear consistent with age and use. There are some dust marks on the shoulders.
