The CLP-585 was Yamaha’s flagship traditional-cabinet Clavinova from this generation and is a serious instrument for an advanced player, returning pianist or family looking for a high-quality piano that will not need upgrading after a few grades.

The main attraction is the excellent NWX Natural Wood X keyboard action. The white keys are made from wood, with synthetic ivory keytops, escapement and individual counterweights. It gives a much more controlled, substantial and acoustic-like playing experience than standard digital piano actions.

The piano sound is equally impressive, with samples from two world-class concert grands: the Yamaha CFX and Bösendorfer Imperial.
