(Original release: 1968/Kent Records)With black lead singer Charlie Allen's emotional vocals and Tom Marshall's aggressive lead guitar, Pacific Gas & Electric, along with their contemporaries Canned Heat, were a five-piece that took the LA blues rock scene by storm. The band is made up of five members. Other members include Glenn Schwartz, who was the first guitarist for the James Gang, and Frank Cook, former drummer for Canned Heat. This debut album features live classics by Bobby Bland, James Cotton, Albert King, John Lee Hooker, and others, beautifully recreated in the studio with the same enthusiasm as on stage. Joe Sample from the Crusaders guested on keyboards.
