Smallest of the Parker Duofolds, the Vest-Parker Duofold was released in 1931, this Canadian made triple cap band version with rounded blind cap was made in 1932.  The Canadian branch of Parker was set up to facilitate export to the British Empire, paticularly the U.K.

The pen has been restored and is in excellent working order.  The colour is described as 'Lapis Lazuli with white flecks', a 'non flecked' version of the colour was also used by Parker.  This example is very unusual in that it shows only the slightest signs of discolouratuion.

A button filler, it fills with one operation of the button and takes up a surprising amount of ink for such a small pen.  The 14Ct. Gold nib writes well, delivering a firm, fine line.

The pen was widely advertised as a 'Vest-Parker Duofold', although it is noow often referred to as a 'Vest Pocket Duofold'.  The 1931 adverts stress that it is not simply a 'ladies pen', a 'vest' in America refers to a waistcoat.  It is described as being: 'ideal for golf, bridge, purse or pocket'.

The Vest-Parker Duofold is a rare pen and is highy collectable.  A Lapis Lazuli version in such good condition is now extremely difficult to come by.
