This is the third solo album by guitarist Tomonori Arai. In addition to Bogdanovich's "Divertimento" and Gakale's "Shadow of China" composed for Arai, the album contains a variety of fine, unknown pieces from the Renaissance to the Viennese Classical School. Many world premiere recordings are also included. The supple sensibility that emerges only through superb technique and a focus on the simple essence of the work is deeply embedded not only in the sharp lines of contemporary works, but also in the elegant investigations of small pieces that have been spun by many guitarists throughout history.
